A few days in New Orleans can really set the soul straight. I was in town for five days over the first weekend of this year’s Jazz and Heritage Festival and saw more good music in those five days than I have in the last year in Los Angeles. Granted, L.A. is a cultural wasteland, but the disparity between the two was startling and enough to make me consider missing my flight back.

I realize I am a little late with this, seeing as how the second weekend revelry has already begun, but whatever. Here’s your guide to weekend number two of Jazzfest 2010.
Jazzfest 2010- First Weekend
It saddens me greatly that I will not be attending Jazzfest this year. It is an absolutely killer lineup, and a great time to be in the city. But just because I won’t be in attendance doesn’t mean I can’t stare longingly at the cubes and plot an imaginary course. Here’s how I would attack weekend one at the fair grounds.
